From the ADAA Chair … November 2017

CathyThis month’s Chair report is all about our members and what we are delivering for you as part of your ADAA membership fees.

Last month I told you that we would be uploading competition results, however this month we have taken that a step further…. you can now check your dog’s results.  Simply go to My Details and logon.  Then scroll down the page and you will see your dogs and a button “View My Dog Results”.  Voilà…. all of the results for your dog(s) are there.  Note, you may need to use the scroll bar at the bottom to see the right hand columns of the results.  The very right hand column (Title) will be used from next year and will indicate Clear/Qualifying Rounds that have been used to apply for a title.  Now that you are on My Details and looking at your dog, why not upload a picture of your dog, visible when anyone does a search in the Hall of Fame, and will also appear against dogs listed under the MAAD and AAC titles.

Alison Muddle (K9 Entries) has advised that she will not be renewing her agreement with ADAA, which means that the current arrangements (which includes transfer of information regarding members and competition results) will expire on 1 December 2017.  As a consequence of this advice, ADAA has commenced planning to build a competition portal integrated with our member information.  We will build an interim solution for members to lodge entries online (which will be available for all competitions from 1 January 2018), followed by a club online system.  Once we have that done, we will revisit the online entries process, to add full functionality.  Ultimately we are planning to have a stand alone competition database for locations without internet access. We will be liaising with clubs and groups during the intervening period.  There are no changes for members entering competitions to be held on or before 31 December 2017.  Online entries for 2018 competitions (interim process) will be available via ADAA’s website from 1 January 2018.

We appreciate your patience and understanding whilst we go forward with this unexpected development, which will allow ADAA to provide you with a seamless process from end to end.  We look forward to providing you with updates as we move forward with the various stages of this project.

May you cherish your time and enjoy your training with your dog and achieve your goals.
